CHELTENHAM
13 miles | 30 minute drive
Known for its elegant Regency architecture, beautiful gardens and vibrant atmosphere, Cheltenham is one of the Cotswolds’ most stylish towns. Its leafy streets are lined with independent boutiques, beautiful shops and charming cafés, making it a wonderful place for a little shopping or a leisurely afternoon exploring.

Famous for the Cheltenham Festival and its legendary Gold Cup, the town is also home to a fantastic calendar of events throughout the year, from jazz and literature to music and food festivals.

Just a short drive from The Plough, Cheltenham makes for a lovely day out before returning to the peace of the countryside and a relaxed evening with us.

BURFORD
10 miles | 20 minute drive
Often referred to as the gateway to the Cotswolds, Burford is one of the region’s prettiest market towns. Its beautiful high street, lined with honey-coloured stone buildings, independent boutiques, antique shops and cosy cafés, is full of charm and
character. Whether you're browsing the shops or simply soaking up the atmosphere, Burford is a lovely place to while away a few hours.
Not to be missed is Burford Garden Centre — far from your average garden centre, its a destination in its own right, with beautifully curated homeware, gifts, interiors, a wonderful food hall and plenty of inspiration around every corner.
DAYLESFORD FARM
8 miles | 17 minute drive
One of our favourites since we moved to the Cotswolds in 2021, Daylesford Organic is somewhere we never tire of visiting. Set in the beautiful countryside near Kingham, it's so much more than a farm shop.

From its beautifully stocked food hall, filled with organic produce, artisan cheeses and freshly baked treats, to its gorgeous homeware, flowers and garden shop, there's inspiration around every corner. There's also a lovely café and restaurant, along with a spa and wellness facilities for those looking to indulge a little.

Whether you're picking up something delicious, browsing the beautiful interiors or simply enjoying the surroundings, Daylesford is a very special place and one we always recommend to our guests.

STOW-ON-THE-WOLD
5 miles | 10 minute drive
Perched on a hilltop in the heart of the Cotswolds, Stow-on-the-Wold is a beautiful historic market town, full of honey-coloured stone buildings, antique shops and centuries of history.

At its heart is the bustling market square with plenty of little treasures waiting to be discovered. Tucked away beside St Edward's Church is one of Stow's most enchanting sights — the famous wooden doorway framed by two ancient yew trees, said to have inspired a scene from The Lord of the Rings.

Have you discovered Stow's secret door yet? It's a little bit of Cotswold magic and well worth seeking out.

Just a short drive from The Plough, Stow is a lovely place to spend a leisurely morning or afternoon before returning to the comfort of the inn.
BOURTON-ON-THE-WATER
2.4 miles | 5 minute drive
Often called the Venice of the Cotswolds, Bourton-on-the-Water is one of the region's most picturesque villages. With its pretty stone bridges crossing the gently flowing River Windrush, honey-coloured cottages and beautiful riverside setting, it's easy to see why visitors fall in love with it.

There's plenty to discover, from the charming Model Village, a miniature replica of Bourton itself, to Birdland Park & Gardens and the Cotswold Motoring Museum. Or simply wander along the river, browse the little shops and soak up the atmosphere of this much-loved village just five minutes away from the plough.
